Clothing Care & Staying Sustainable
Extend the life of your favourite Gymineer ‘fits by following these simple instructions.
How to Care For Your Workout Fits
We think there’s only one thing worse than forgetting your headphones on leg day, and that’s not looking after your new ‘fits — so we’ve put together a few helpful tips to keep your gear performing (and looking) its best.
1. Always Read The Care Label First
Whether it’s a hoodie, a pair of leggings, or your go-to gym tee, always check the care label before washing. It may sound obvious, but those little symbols carry a lot of important info. They’ll tell you how to wash, dry, and iron your items without causing damage — and they’re there for a reason!
👉 Pro tip: Take a moment to learn what each care symbol means — it can save you from any laundry disasters.
2. Wash Your Clothes Inside Out
Let’s keep it real — your workout clothes go through a lot. Sweat, dead skin cells and bacteria build up on the inside of your garments, which can lead to some pretty unpleasant smells (worse than a gym bag left in the boot of your car all week — yeah, we said it).
Washing your clothes inside out helps tackle those odours more effectively, while also protecting the fabric and any prints or logos on the outside.
3. Wash At Low or Cold Temperature
We’re all about efficiency — in the gym and at home. Washing your sportswear at 30°C or below not only saves energy but also helps maintain the quality and stretch of your gym gear. High-temperature washing can also lead to discolouration or fading, so sticking to low temperatures is essential for preserving the appearance of your garments.
4. Avoid The Tumble Dryer
We love heat for muscle gains — not for our ‘fits. Tumble drying can damage fabrics, reduce elasticity, and fade prints over time.
Wherever possible, air dry your clothes instead. It’s gentler on your gear, helps it last longer, and cuts down on energy use and emissions. Air drying also helps preserve the colour and vibrancy of your garments, preventing fading caused by tumble drying.
5. Wash Separately
To avoid colour transfer, always wash your Gymineer garments separately from other items — especially on first wash. This simple step can help maintain the original colour and prevent unwanted staining.
6. Use Fragrance-Free Detergent
Opt for a mild, fragrance-free detergent to minimise chemical exposure and protect the fabric of your garments. This ensures your workout gear stays in top condition for longer.
